Joanne Peel is a visual artist whose creative journey began in photography but flourished into painting.

She has been taking photographs for over 40 years since her parents gave her a camera for her 18th birthday, and is very much inspired by the Cartier Bresson approach to 'the decisive moment' when capturing an image. She was trained in photography at the University of Arts for London. She enjoys taking candid shots of people, and of landscapes, graffiti and street scenes, and of architecture from unusual perspectives.
 
Her paintings are defined by her bold use of colour, vibrancy, and movement, each piece serving as a reflection of the energy and feeling behind her artistic process. Joanne’s intuitive approach allows her to explore the interplay between texture and form, creating pieces that are both visually striking and deeply evocative.
 
Through her creative practice, Joanne invites viewers into a world of emotion and spontaneity, where colour becomes a language of its own. Her passion for creative expression continues to evolve, pushing the boundaries of her artistic storytelling.
 
She has exhibited her paintings in Wiltshire and Yorkshire and her paintings can be found in private collections across the UK, Germany, and San Francisco.

She has had her photographs exhibited in a gallery in Greenwich, London and had photos published in the London Evening Standard and the London Metro. She has been the official photographer at 2 weddings and many 'special occassion' parties.

Joanne currently creates from her home studio the 'Giddy Kipper Workshop' in Yorkshire, where she continues to experiment, explore, and bring her artistic vision to life.
